"Win a Zune" Sweepstakes
1) PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: No purchase necessary to enter or win. Promotion begins at 12:01 a.m. (PT) on February 9, 2007 and ends at 11:59 p.m. (PT) on February 28, 2007 (“Promotion Period”). Winners will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received.
2) HOW TO ENTER/SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Access the Microsoft MSN “Win a Zune” Zune Sweepstakes web site online at http://www.homepage.msn.com/zune and complete the online entry form. Once registration is completed, click on “Make MSN your homepage” or "Just Enter Me in the Sweepstakes" to submit. Entrants must complete all required information on the Sweepstakes enrollment form and submit their entry by 11:59 p.m. (PT) on February 28, 2007 to be eligible. During the Promotion Period, users who properly completed and submitted the Sweepstakes enrollment form as described above will receive one entry in the MSN Zune Sweepstakes. Limit one (1) entry per person and a single entrant may only use one (1) e-mail address account to enter during the promotion period. Multiple e-mail address accounts used for entry by a single entrant will not qualify for entry. Microsoft assumes no responsibility for lost, late, misdirected entries or for any computer, online, telephone, or human error or technical malfunctions that may occur. Incomplete entries are void.
3) Sweepstakes Drawing: A random drawing will be held on or about March 14, 2007 to award all Sweepstakes prizes from all eligible Sweepstakes entries received. The random drawing will be held under the supervision of Promotion Activators, Inc., an independent judging organization, whose decisions are final on matters relating to this Sweepstakes.
4) PRIZES/ODDS OF WINNING: Fifty (50) Prizes: a Zune digital media player. Approximate retail value (“ARV”): $250.00, each. Total ARV of all prizes: $12,500.00. Any applicable tax on a prize is the sole responsibility of the winner. Prizes will be awarded provided they are properly claimed, as described herein. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if prize is unavailable. No barter, transfer, substitution or assignment of prize permitted, except by Sponsor at its sole discretion. Prize is not redeemable for cash. Odds of winning a Sweepstakes prize depend on the number of eligible entries received for the drawing.
5) ELIGIBILITY: This sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, 13 years of age or older at the time of entry. Void where prohibited by law. Employees of Microsoft Corporation and anyone working directly on Microsoft programs and their respective affiliates, parent companies, subsidiaries, promotion, advertising and promotional agencies and the immediate family members (parent, child, spouse, and sibling) and persons living in the households of each are not eligible to enter.
6) GENERAL CONDITIONS: Sweepstakes entrants agree to be bound by the terms of these Official Rules. The laws of the United States govern this Sweepstakes. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Potential winners will be notified via e-mail at the e-mail address provided and must respond with their street address, city, state, zip and telephone number to be eligible to receive a prize. If a potential winner fails to respond to notification within forty eight (48) hours of notification date, an alternate winner will be selected. Up to six (6) alternate winners per prize will be selected. Prizes will be shipped within ninety (90) days to the address provided above. Non-compliance within this time period or return of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission for Sponsor to use winner’s name and likeness for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation unless prohibited by law. By entering, participants release and hold harmless Microsoft Corporation, its related companies, and their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, prize suppliers, employees and agents including VML and Promotion Activators, Inc. from any and all liability or any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with this Sweepstakes or acceptance or use of any prize won.
7) INTERNET: The use of any automated launching or entry software or any other mechanical or electronic means that permits the participant to automatically enter repeatedly is prohibited. If for any reason this sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the sponsor which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes, the sponsor reserves the right at their sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes. The Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. The sponsor is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or telephone lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by sponsor on account of technical problems, human error or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in this sweepstakes or downloading any materials in this Sweepstakes. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES OR OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON (S) RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTEMPT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a winner based on an e-mail address, the winning entry will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization (e.g., business, educational, institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.
